Hi Again,
Well, we started our planning last night with Joel, Jim and Ian. For a start we noted down the dates of this year's meetings as:
September 21
October 12
November 9
December 14
January 11
February 8
March 8
April 12
May 10
For September we are trying to confirm Mark Wallenfang, a local lab owner and shooter for The Packer Report to talk about sports shooting for us.
For October we need to confirm Ken Cobb to speak about assignments and preparing for them.
Some ideas for further meeting topics that were noted were:
a newspaper photographer,
an rtist to talk on composition,
a joint activity with the other club in town
A critique night
Photoshop Vs Lightroom
Massaging photos for display.
Tech Topics
For our new Tech Topics feature we thought that having this just before the break would give a chance to present it, and any who wanted to delve deeper would be able to during break time. For September we have Image Handling (including resizing) and for October we have Print Mounting. Some other topics would be ISO Speed, Aperature and Shutter and their interraltionships (and a catchier title) and a session on RAW files. Further suggestions welcome.
Featured Photographer
Jim will coordinated the Featured Photographer segment and suggested starting off with Nicephore Niepce, he of the first record images. Suggestions from everyone else welcomed.
Challenges
Since the tank challenge from last spring we enjoyed by many, we will try a few more of these during the year. Some ideas were to:
Imitate an admired photographer
Bridges
Everyone shoots one Single Use Camera, submits the 4x6's and a selected image as an 8x10
To Do List
We need to lock down the meeting location for our dates
Put together a Competition Calendar
Get a newsletter out
Finish planning our year
All
Please feel free to add any thoughts and comments to these posts so we can all come to a consensus.
Ian
